Penalty
There was a penalty to working with Gibbs.
Director Vance wasn't sure why he hadn't noticed it at first but he figured that he was a man on a mission.
Evaluations were a head ache not just for him but for most of the team leaders with in the building and though they weren't a weekly or even monthly item to deal with most found a way to get on with it and just try to get back to normal work.
There was only one man who truly hated them and would take weeks to finish his three and that was why Vance chose to follow up on Gibbs to make sure the agent was doing what was needed of him.
Because he was so focused on fighting Gibbs on this he didn't notice that Ziva David and Tim McGee were both sitting in their chairs with hands on their heads facing away from their desks.
It took a few minutes of staring at Gibbs bent head to notice it.
"Gibbs why are two of my agents sitting like naughty school kids" Vance demanded as Gibbs carried on working only throwing a quick glance to the two agents.
"Penalty" he offered causing Vance to raise his eyebrows and hide that smirk away.
"For" Vance demanded before Gibbs sign one last piece of paper before closing a file, Vance watched as Gibbs gathered the files and handed them to him.
"Evaluations. I'm done" Gibbs declared as he lent back in his chair and Vance quickly opened the first file and skimmed the page.
"Gibbs what I don't understand is why your punishing them when you have given me this" Vance questioned as he gestured to the two other agents who still remained mute.
"Pranks. Ziva and McGee decided to pay DiNozzo back and they were punished" Gibbs admitted as Vance let out a laugh unable to stop himself.
Gibbs may have many quirks and his punishment of his team was still odd to many other agents but Vance had to admit out of all the teams Team Gibbs was the only ones batting nearly a hundred out of the park.
So if two of NCIS top agents were sitting in a time out Vance wouldn't argue.
"I understand" Vance smiled with a shake of his head.
"How long" "until quitting time or we get a case" Gibbs admitted with a shrug that meant he was happy with the silence.
"And DiNozzo" Vance questioned wondering where the biggest prankster was and from the way Gibbs smirked he knew it would probably teach the younger agent a lesson he wouldn't soon be forgetting.
"Palmer is out sick today and Ducky is having his yearly clear out" Gibbs admitted as Vance laughed out loud not being able to help himself.
Holding the files up Vance smiled broadly at the lead agent and turned back towards his office.
"Good work Gibbs" Vance called smirking at Ziva as he passed the woman. Stopping Vance glanced back to Gibbs and his team and watched them.
They were the strangest team he had worked with but he couldn't deny they got results.
"Boss I need the toilet" McGee called out and without looking at him Gibbs raised an eyebrow.
"GO" Gibbs stated before the young agent jumped to his feet and raced towards the toilets with his hands still on his head.
Laughing to himself Vance headed towards his office knowing that at one point he would have to visit Ducky just to see how DiNozzo was doing with his punishment.
Gibbs had rules and he had penalties to go with them but Vance also knew that Gibbs had a sense of humour.
Just a cheeky one shot on Gibbs team leading skills. I'm pretty sure if my boss could away with this I would be sitting in the corner most days.
