A/N: Slightly depressing drabble about Bones and Booth minutes after I finished watching the last episode
"Bones, I have something to tell you,"
"I love you." There was a brief pause. "In a professional way, you know, like attagirl!"
"I lied." My hand reached out on its own accord and grasped hers. "I lied many times…"
"But it meant nothing; just two colleges reacting to almost dying." She shrugged lightly as my heart broke.
"Yeah, just blowing off steam,"
"With you it's never 'blowing off steam'; it's that and so much more." I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment. "This is why I wanted to say…" A high pitched whine filled the room and I backed into a corner as the doctors and nurses rushed in. Tears were flowing freely as I muttered: "I love you, Temperance, my…everything."
