"Stop it she's going to love you."

"No, she's not. I'm going to be awkward and clumsy and mess everything up."

"No. You're going to be adorable and sweet and she's going to love you."

"And if not? What of she hates me and never wants to see me again."

"She won't. Because you are you. And you are amazing. Now are you ready?"

Reed took a deep breath as he watched Shane's fingers close around the door knob and open the door.

They both stood there for a moment until Shane smiled "After you"

Reed sighed and took a step forward, then immediately let out a shriek as his foot caught onto the carpet and he went flying inside.

"Oh my god" he mumbled as Shane caught him and helped him up.

"So you must be Reed then." Mrs Anderson smiled, with a raised eyebrow.

"That was the most embarrassing thing ever. Ever."

"You weren't that bad, she really liked you."

"Shane, I tripped over your rug, broke one of your mum's antique vases, spilt tea all over your mum's Channel. Still think I wasn't that bad?"

"Well yeah, but she invited you over for dinner next weekend, that must be a good sign, yeah?"

"Oh, no. no, no, no, no, no, no. No. I'm not going. Nope. No way."

"Oh, come on Reed. It's just dinner, no big deal."

"No, but I'll just go and make a fool of myself again."

"…"

"Shane no. Stop pouting. No Stop. Stop it. Stop. Shane plea- hmph."

"So you'll come"

"…"

"So I'll take that as a yes."

"I hate you."

"No, you love me. But not as much as I love you."

"Wanna bet?"

"Mmhmm?"
