The Good Old Days

Those joys of Pokemon are gone now
The man of time has taken the fun away
I remember watching the show for the first time
And as I look back it wasn't as plucky as it seemed

Ah distinctly I remember
How I felt when Butterfree was let free
and the last of Charmander's ember cast it's ghost upon the floor
And how Pokemon is here, in presents, nevermore

I remember I was in the grade of sixth
And the Blue cartridge is what I picked
To give me enjoyment
I have never felt before

And then came the comics
We made our own Pokemon and fought them
And every other day I turned out an issue
And others enjoyment is what I did it for

And it continued
through the seventh
and oh, how I miss
The hours of enjoyment of yore

And then
Through time
Pokemon was taken away from us
And we spoke of the lovable creatures not anymore

How they deemed it unacceptable
We all pretended to forget
But in our hearts I dare to bet
That we remember the greatness that Pokemon bore

Is it so that time we praise
and Pokemon has died within us
and we no longer associate ourselves with it
Well, I'll never forget the good old days
