This is a missing scene from the newest Merlin episode. Spoilers if you haven't seen it. This is also my first fanfic =)

Merlin poured wine into Gwen's goblet while she smiled at him triumphantly, knowing he knew she'd lied but not having the power to say anything. Merlin was furious even though he logically understood this wasn't Gwen. His friend's mind was locked in an enchantment, making her a puppet of the evil Morgana. Somehow, knowing that didn't make him feel better. They locked eyes for a moment, Gwen challenging and Merlin carefully considering what to do.
"Well, Merlin? Don't leave us in suspense. We want to know all about her." Arthur's teasing voice sounded from the opposite side of the table. Arthur, oblivious to the tension, wanted to hasten his friend's humiliation. Simple pleasures.
"Yes Merlin, I know I let the cat out of the bag and I'm sorry but we all know now and we'd love to hear about her." Gwen's falsely sweet voice and smile grated on Merlin's last nerve.
Alright, if she wants to rub it in and try to force him to play her stupid game, then so be it.
"There isn't anything to tell, Sire. I was told the girl I was meeting was nice and pretty, but she ended up being a total harpy. It turns out her friend who set us up is a liar." Spoken very directly to Gwen whose smile slipped slightly. Arthur laughed.
"In other words, she came to her senses. Well, never mind Merlin! I'll keep you plenty busy, you won't even think of shirking your duty to go gallivanting with a girl again." Arthur smiled mockingly.
"Thank you, Sire." Deeply sarcastic while his eyes watched Gwen's now calculating face. Something needs to be done.
