Harry looked directly at Lavender as he sang that verse. She understood the look perfectly. She walked to Ron and gave him a hug. Harry continued to sing.

Ginny looked at Harry, the stupidity of what she'd said and done finally dawning on her. She smiled at Harry before taking Collin by the hand and apologizing. Harry sang the last verse directly to Severus, everyone else disappearing. Only Severus mattered.

When Harry had finished, he left the room. He had done what he'd set out to do, which was make his friends realize their mistakes. No one could tell Severus what he'd done wrong, because he wouldn't listen anyway. He loved Severus, but Severus had been avoiding him, and it was the final straw. A hand grabbed Harry's arm in the hall. The person spun him around.
"You are everything I want and need. I love you." Severus said as he kissed Harry.
