My English teacher had us write a poem during class one day, and I had just watched the episode 'The Lady of the Lake' the night before. Since then, it's officially become my favorite Merlin episode, and I hope they bring Freya back in the future! She and Merlin made a cute pairing.

Basically, the poem is about the very end of the episode. It's obscure enough that my teacher wouldn't realize where I got the original idea from, but for fans of the show, it'll make total sense.

This is my first attempt at writing (good) poetry, so please leave kind reviews!

Trees taller than the mountains

Stretch towards the heavens

As I stand by the lake

Alone, save for her and her boat.

The lapping waves pull her out,

Father away from the bank,

Farther away from me.

Sobs strangle my throat in their vice-like grip,

As I watch the dancing flames

Reaching up higher from her little wooden boat.

I do not want to watch

As her soft hair and the silks of her dress

Turn to smoke in the sky.

But I must have every precious memory of her

Or she will truly be no more.

She is burning now,

As is my heart.

The wind whips the tall trees

Surrounding the lake,

Our lake.

It pulls her out farther from sight.

A voice is carried on the wind.

It is her voice, calling my name.

I promised she would never be alone again,

And now, she too promises me.

It might take years,

Or months,

Or even mere days- who am I to know?

But my heart tells me,

(for she is my heart)

That we will be together again.
