It was a Friday, and Light was handcuffed to L, sleep deprivated and bored out of his mind. When L got up to get some particular files for the Kira case, Light had noticed a board game mixed in with the papers. It read Sorry clear as day, even with his foggy vision caused from getting no sleep. Light swooped in and grabbed it, seeing it as his only way to escape further boredom.
"Ryuuzaki! Could we maybe take a break and play a quick game of Sorry?" Light said with eagerness in his voice.
"Sorry? Sorry for what, Light-kun?"
"No, no. It's a board game. Have you ever played it before?"
"No, I don't believe so. There's never been time to play board games during an investigation."
"Don't worry, I can teach you. It's simple."
...10 minutes of Sorry explanation later...
They started the game, moving a few spaces, and finally got to a point where Light had to knock out one of L's blue pieces. He did so.
"Light."
"Yes, Ryuuzaki?"
"You did not say 'Sorry.", when knocking out my piece."
"Oh, well. It's not that important."
"So you admit you're Kira?"
"Huh! How did you get that? I'm not Kira!"
"Only Kira would think that saying sorry in a game called Sorry was not that important."
"No! Uh, I'm very very sorry! Is everything ok now?"
"No. There is now a 7% chance that you are Kira."
"Ugh..." Light just sighed.
Light decided that Sorry was not the best game to play. He looked for something else, and came up with checkers.
L had crossed onto Light's side, and was ready to be crowned a king. Light kinged him.
"Light."
"What now?"
"You showed the slightest hesitation when kinging me. You are certainly Kira. Kira is trying to be God. As such, he would not be very happy with the idea of another King to compete with."
"You over-analyze things!"
"No, I am simply deducing that you are Kira, using the evidence given."
"For the last time, I AM NOT KIRA.'
"You might think that, but I can assure you, if you're not Kira, you're certainly In Denial."
"Gahhhh! I'm never playing board games with you again."
"Trying to avoid a situation that gives you away? Typical."
"Ahhhhh! Just, just shut up!."
Light got up and put away the checker board. This had been a bad idea.
I do not own Death Note, Checkers, or Sorry. I liked how this once turned out, I hope you enjoyed it!
