Of Fights and Fun

Disclaimer: I do not own X-Men or any of its wonderful characters.

I did this in about ten minutes in my AP history class...

"Good morning, class." Ms. Jean Grey said as she entered one of the many rooms of the X-Mansion.

"Where's Summers?" John Allerdyce asked sarcastically.

"Mr. Summers is out with a cold," Jean said, her eyes narrowing at the pyromaniac mutant. "I'll be your substitute."

The class groaned. Scott was boring, sure, but Jean was strict. This particular class consisted of Rogue, Bobby Drake, John, Kitty Pride, Siryn, and a young boy named Ryan who could cause you to hallucinate.

"Where did Scott leave off?" Jean asked, shuffling through Cyclops' messy desk. Scott Summers taught history, which Jean personally found boring.

"He left off with 'In the beginning...'" John said, smirking.

Bobby lightly punched him in the arm. "We were talking about President Lincoln's assassination," he said, smiling at Jean. He thought she was nice, even though she was strict. Returning the smile Jean said, "Okay. Does anyone know who shot the president?"

Rogue raised her hand tentatively. Jean nodded at her, signifying that she could answer. "John Wilkes Booth," Rogue said in her southern Mississippi twang.

"Very good, Rogue. What do we know about Booth?"

Siryn opened her mouth to reply when a wad of paper hit her in the head. Her answer turned into a scream and everyone covered their ears in pain.

John and Bobby were snickering behind their hands when two paper balls came their way. They looked over to see Rogue and Kitty trying to look innocent.

It turned into an all-out war. On one side of the room Rogue, John, and Bobby were behind three over-turned desks and Ryan, Kitty, and Siryn were on the other.

For the moment Jean was watching the fight amusedly. Bobby and Rogue were wadding paper while John was throwing it. Kitty was letting the balls phase through her while Ryan was cowering in fear. Siryn was trying her best to hit John, but she had never had very good aim.

Jean stepped forward to end the battle and got caught in the crossfire.

The battle subsided when everyone realized that five different balls had hit Jean at once.

Jean slowly smiled. The leftover paper balls rose in the air and pelted each of the students. The war continued, this time Jean helping Kitty and her team.

Logan whistled to himself as he headed toward the class Jean was teaching. He was in an uncharacteristically good mood today and knew seeing Jean would help. He reached the door, and thanks to his acute hearing, heard giggling and screaming.

Logan threw the door open and was met with seven paper balls slamming into his face and chest. Everyone stopped, frozen in place. (No, it wasn't Bobby!)

Logan stood still for about five seconds, then smiled wickedly.

"Oh sh..." Rogue said, ducking behind her desk. Everyone else wasn't as lucky. They all got a face-full of shredded paper.

When the bell rang, all eight mutants exited the room laughing. As the group walked by the Professor, he shook his head, quietly laughing to himself.
