The Right Thing?
"Did I do the right thing?" Marlene tearfully asked Lily.
"I think that dumping Sirius Black was just something that, because of reasons that you absolutely refuse to tell me, needed to be done. Right, Marlene?"
"That's right," she replied.
"I also think that you were polite enough to not make a huge scene when you broke up with him," Lily confidently told her.
"So I did the right thing with him?" Marlene hopefully asked Lily.
"I think that you think that you did the right thing," Lily hesitantly told her.
"So you don't think that I did the right thing!"
"Not exactly," Lily agitatedly replied.
"Lily, if only you knew what I know…."
"You won't tell me!" Lily angrily hissed at Marlene.
"I can't tell you!" Marlene wailed.
"Then quit asking me to decide whether you made a bad decision when you won't tell me exactly what happened!" Lily snapped at Marlene.
"Fine!"
