I wasn't quite sure what to call this piece that came to me within moments of me finishing reading 'Inheritance' but I thought that as the Idea is set after the series and the references to images in mirrors that 'After Images' was an appropriate title, it's not much and though there is no rhyming scheme as it pretty much wrote itself over ten to fifteen minutes it should still be noted that it DOES have a poetic rhythm to it, I also decided that it should also bear the hurt/comfort tag though there is not much comfort in it.
Also be aware that it could be considered a spoiler, I hope you enjoy it.

So he bore the weight of sorrow,
And immersed himself in work,
Never seemed to waver,
But when he stopped to rest,
In his eyes that melancholy,
That nothing seemed to shake,
Would then be more apparent,
To those that saw his face.

But dreadful weight of sorrow,
held within a spark,
Of life of joy of happiness,
A light against the dark,
Only when to visions,
In his mirror did he speak,
Was weary weight of sorrow,
Replaced by wondrous light.

She bound herself to duty,
No matter how it pained,
But now the visions taunt,
Of what she cast aside,
A vision in a mirror,
Of who now holds her heart,
Whom she wants to hold,
To fan a spark aflame.

And so they go on wanting,
This distance now to vanish,
But bound themselves so tightly,
To missions they had chosen,
So now through suffering,
Do they have to strive,
For no matter how both wish,
They still hold themselves apart.
