Someday, You Guys Might Thank Me for This
Author's Notes: Hey guys! My name's Blueberry-kun, but you can call me Blue for short. I've been a fan of 'High School Musical' ever since it came out. But, after a while, I began to wonder; whatever happened to the guy that pushed Troy and Gabriella up on stage and told them one day, they'd thank him for doing it? Well, we're just going to have to see.
"Why is so hot in Albuquerque this time of year? I mean, Christmas is next week," Jeffrey Williams pondered aloud as he walked out of a local café. He was visiting his family for Christmas for the first time in six years, instead of his family coming to Colorado so he could work at the ski lodge.
As he walked, (his parents' house was only a few blocks away) he passed by the local high school, where a few college-looking kids had congregated in front of. Most of them had their backs turned to him, but two of them were looking straight at him and muttering something. One was a tall, athletic-looking young man and shorter, slender young woman.
Suddenly, the woman ran up to Jeffrey and hugged him. "Thank you so much!" she squealed.
"Excuse me?" Jeffrey asked, perplexed.
"You said one day we might thank you," the young man said, his arms crossed against his chest.
"Come again?" the man said.
"Here," said the woman, her black curls spilling across her face as she dug through her purse.
"My name's Troy Bolton and this is Gabriella Montez. On our last day on winter vacation junior year, we sang at your lodge," the younger man explained.
"Very reluctantly, I might add," the woman, who must have been Gabriella, said. She then thrust out a picture at Jeffrey of her and Troy. "This was taken during spring break of junior year," she added.
The two kids in the picture began to look more and more like the young adults in front of him as Jeffrey compared the images. "I remember you two now," he murmured. Then he noticed something on Gabriella's left ring finger. "You two are engaged?" he asked, surprised.
"Yeah," they said in unison.
"And it's all because you started a chain events that have more life and hope lead up to it," Troy explained.
In unison one more time, Troy and Gabriella both said, "Thank you."
