Summary: A moment shared between Opal and Kuvira.
Butterflies
Opal walked into the dancing studio, her mother turning and smiling brightly to see her daughter. "You're early! I'll be just a moment, darling," Su said before turning to her dancers. Opal blushed lightly twining her fingers together as she looked over to the dancers.
Opal's eyes twinkled when she saw Kuvira. Opal wouldn't admit to her mother that the reason she always came early was so she could see Kuvira. Of course she had seen her patrolling Zaofu but here she was a bit more carefree. At least during breaks, that is.
Opal walked closer leaning against the wall watching Kuvira as she gracefully moved with the others. Of course the other dancers were wonderful but there was something about Kuvira that made Opal feel butterflies in her stomach. Opal talked to her very rarely though she seen her quite a lot. She was always afraid that she'd embarrass herself. The pink in her cheeks didn't make it any easier for her.
Su clapped her hands, the dancers stopping as they took a breath. "Lovely as always!" Su said ecstatically. "We'll pick this up again tomorrow. Make sure everything is perfect. And Mai, I'd like to talk to you before you go."
Opal's eyes followed Kuvira, she seemed to be walking right towards her. Opal bowed her head, her gaze going straight to the floor. "Are you taking your mother out for lunch?" asked Kuvira. Opal felt her cheeks become warm, looking up, meeting her eyes.
"Yes," Opal answered bashfully. Kuvira smiled as she used the towel to wipe the sweat from her forehead.
"You know sometimes when you come in here, a little part of me hopes you do it just to see me." Opal parted her lips, avoiding her gaze.
"I would be lying if I didn't say I arrive early just to watch you dance." Kuvira smiled. She straightened up lightly noticing Suyin coming their way. The older woman smiled at the two of them.
"Are you ready for lunch?" she asked her daughter. Opal beamed at her mother.
"Yes," she answered happily. Su looked at Kuvira, nodding her head as a goodbye. Before Opal turned to follow her mother Kuvira winked at her making the blush return to her cheeks as she turned to follow her mother.
