Don't mind this story.. It's really depressing, well in my opinion it is. I was in a really depressed state when I wrote this, and its really short. About AM, I'm sorry I haven't updated. I have no ideas for it.

I do not own Inuyasha.

Imperfect Happiness

An Inuyasha Fanfic

By Wild Midnight

Kagome dropped to her knees, her hands gripping her hair. Naraku was dead, she thought it was all over. Everything would be peaceful for her and her friends. She thought the well closing would be okay, she would get through it with her friends. But in the battle..

They died.

Her whole world disappeared, and she fell to the ground. Her gray eyes widened, panicking. She couldn't help the state of shock she fell into on the battlefield, her dead friends spread out. Inuyasha lay peacefully, blood splattered onto his left cheek. Sango and Miroku lay together, facing eachother. They didn't have many wounds, but were obviously beaten. Shippo, oh little Shippo, lay wrapped in his tail, and it looked as if the fox kit was sleeping. Kirara had a large hole in her small body, her red eyes were still open, however all the life that once lit up those beautiful crimson eyes were gone. Sesshomaru had took no sympathy of the girl, disappearing from the bloody mess quickly.

Kagome woke up, all of her friends sitting in front of her. Shippo hugged her, but she couldn't feel the warmth that usually radiated from the cute little fox kit's body. Everything was a vibrant beautiful color, except her friends. It's like all the color was drained from their bodies, and they were just left blank. However, with Kagome's state she didn't notice. She was too wrapped up in the fact that her friends were somehow okay. Kagome called out Shippo's name in happiness, but his eyebrows went up in confusion. Kagome stared at him, it was as if Shippo didn't know his own name.

He was nameless.

'Cause he's not real. He's dead.'

'He's here. I don't need to run.'

'All our friends are dead. They live in our head.'

Tears fell down her face, and Sango went to wipe them off the young miko's cheeks, but her gray hands weren't able to touch her. They went through her. But Kagome didn't care. She's happy, cause she's never alone. Her friends, her head, it didn't matter as long as they were with her. They live in her head. All of her friends are dead.

'I'm so happy... All the time.'

She started unconsciously walking away, pictures and flashbacks of all the happiness she had experienced. With real beings. She kept walking, until the imaginary gray beings were a blur, then became invisible. She sat at the edge.

'This is imperfect.'

'If we go, it won't be an illusion anymore.'

'It'll be perfect again?'

'You'll be with your friends.'

'I'll be happy again.'

'You were always happy, but this isn't real.'

'I'm so happy... All.. the time.'

And she closed her eyes, feeling herself fall. The impact wasn't clear, but by the bright white light that she saw when she opened her eyes, was enough proof. She was where they were.

'I'm not ashamed.'

'Don't be.'

She walked farther into the white light, until she was finally enveloped into it. She would finally be with them again, and not with mirrored illusions.
