the group sat around the crackling fire in silence.'It's now or never...I'll tell him now. We only have a few shards left anyways, so if I leave a little early it wont affect them to bad.'
"InuYasha?"
"What wench" he looked at her to see sadness, hurt, and nervousness? 'Why should she be nervous?"
"I-I wanna talk to you alone. Will you come with me for a moment."
"Yeah, yeah I'm coming." he said rudly while picking himself up off the ground. She led him into the forest. "Kagome? Where are you taking me?"
"Somewhere where we can talk." suddenly she spun around and kept a good distance between her and InuYasha. "InuYasha. We've been through a lot together, haven't we?"
"Yeah? Where are you going with this?" he asked.
"I'm leaving right now. But before I do I want to tell you something I've wanted to tell you for a long time."
"Yeah and what's that?"
"She looked up at him with teary eyes and said, "I love you", she closed her eyes and let the tears fall. InuYasha stood there like he had been hit by a tone of bricks. She loved him, but did he love her in return? No. No he didn't. He loved her to an extent, but he loved Kikyo so much more and kagome just wasn't Kikyo.
"I'm sorry Kagome."
Kagome got that pained look in her eyes. "For what?"
"I don't love you back. I'm sorry." she nodded and turned her back to him. The only one she will ever truly love. she began walking back to camp.
"Do me a favor InuYasha. Tell everyone I knew goodbye and tell them I'll never forget them"
"I promise"
"Thank you. I'm sorry InuYasha."
"For what? For leaving. And also for falling in love with you. Know that I won't ever forget you or stop loving you. I won't ever love someone as much as I love you." she turned again and began walking again and this time she broke into a run. She reached camp with tears running down her face.
"Kagome what's the matter?" asked Miroku.
"Goodbye forever guys. I'm going to seal the well right now. Goodbye."
"Wait what?! You cant go kagome. You cant!"
"I must guys. Know that I'll miss you and think of you every day until the day I die. I'll see you all again when I'm dead. Goodbye." now Sango, Miroku and shippo all had tears in their eyes. Kirara was even crying. Kagome grabbed her stuff and turned to face her friends. "Tell InuYasha I said I love him. I just want him to hear it, one last time." she said as she headed for the well. She recited the sealing spell and before it took full effect jumped thorugh. She was gone forever. Never t return to the land she once called home. Never to return to her bestest of friends. Never to return to the man she loved.
InuYasha fell to the forest floor and cried for the first time in his life. He never knew how much he needed her, wanted her, even loved her. Now she was gone forever. 'Ha, I guess it's true; you never know what you have until it's gone forever.'
