I just got a MEGA brainwave and I had to write this.
Also, Happy Harmony Day!
Simon jolted awake from his dreamless sleep. Above him in the bunk bed, Gary slept dreamily. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and looked out the window. A full moon illuminated his and Gary's room, giving it a blue sheen.
He placed his bare feet onto the freezing cold floor and stood up quietly, careful not to hit his head on the top bunk. As quiet as a mouse, he slipped on tracksuit pants, black socks and a navy blue hoodie. With a glance at a sleeping Gary on the top bunk, he slithered out of the room, closing the door with a quiet click behind him.
Simon wandered silently through the dark, empty hallways, letting old memories of his team creep into his mind. He didn't usually remember that sort of stuff, but looking down the cold hallways, it seemed to warm him a bit.
Gary, splashing him with water as they swam in a lake. Simon ducking under and pulling Gary down below the surface of the water, and wrestling as they flailed under the water. Finally, they resurfaced, laughing and splashing each other with water.
He found one of the porches out the back, and sat down on the edge, letting the moonlight filter onto his pale skin. As he looked up to the moon, his eyes watered with tears as another memory came to mind.
MacTavish, sneaking up on him as he sat down by the lake, throwing stones. Simon growled at him, angry that he had been startled. But Mac only smiled as he pulled something from behind his back. A photo of the team at Christmas time, with Simon, his arms crossed against his chest, Gary behind him, making bunny ears. MacTavish with his arm around Gary and Royce. Royce standing next to Meat, with Worm at the end. Simon smiled as he took the photo in his hands.
"Happy Birthday!" Mac had called to him.
Simon blinked back the tears, and looked down at the grass below him. The harsh wind ruffled his blonde hair as he heard footsteps enwind him. He turned his head to see MacTavish coming through the open door and sitting next to him, his legs dangling over the edge of the porch.
"You couldn't sleep either huh." MacTavish murmured, looking up to the moon.
"No. Something woke me." He mumbled back.
"I had a nightmare." MacTavish said as he fumbled with his hands.
"What about?" Simon looked at him curiously.
"Everyone was dying. They were either on fire, bleeding out or shot. But I couldn't see the cause of it. And I was just standing there, unable to help." He moved his legs over the edge of the porch, and stare at his hands.
"Well, I won't die." Simon said hopefully.
"He smiled. "Yeah, cuz' you can't kill a Ghost." Simon smirked.
"I'll always be here." Simon whispered. He looked to MacTavish. "No need to worry."
They both stared at the moon and stars for a while. The stars were good company, but the moon filled them with heartfelt memories of their team.
Simon hoped the moon would never go away.
Here's a short thing for you I guess. A review please? *gets down on knees* Pleaseeeee?
Writing the memories nearly made me cry. *sniff* I wish I could have memories like that when I'm older 3
