Title: Antebellum
Author: Kiasarene
Series: Naruto
Rating: T
Summary: Because a hand outstretched reaches, even in the form of a fist. Vaguely ItaSasu drabble. Can be viewed as a brotherly understudy, seeing as there is very little implied, and very little Itachi, actually...
Disclaimer: Do I really have to write it out? Like knowing it isn't cruel enough?
..{Antebellum}..
There is a vague moment rooted somewhere in the depths of everything he'll never tell you, and the words he's ceased to feel(this is the afterword, the word before, and that melody that strikes familiar like a bashing to the brain,). This is before the war but after the rain(of blood) and just in between the moment he's lied to say he'd never plead.
This is the strategy of utmost beloved, broken, deity;
The second he's seen what's happened, Sasuke Uchiha doesn't hesitate to crawl to the arms of his family's killer for comfort(he does not receive). This will go unspoken(and what a sad, gory song to receive) and so forth as the memory is broken before it may spiral, sharp and wicked, into what is not the truth, and forever be tacked to his side beneath hate as the words that couldn't ease his pain( they are; trust, love, warmth and-forgiveness- say it slow to savor- trust, love, warmth…).
Instead he thrives for anguish( both his own and the lie) and slips beneath the covers of another light sheet( like the one's he can soil-when you're asking for it) and in thinking he was never a child at all, in the arms of a mother and the embrace of a brother.
(Because it was dark then too, and very little counted,)
But as it is, even now, Sasuke Uchiha's perception is twisted and scathed.
His loyalty, always to his brother, and had it happened either way-when he'd run to his red hands trembling with fear-that he lives with eyes turned to his back(and this, this is a cycle, a chain, reminiscent of needles) and one voice guiding his fate.
(This is the forward because you do not flinch at the arms of a killer. Once your hand bore open palms to reach with outstretched fingers-now you long to touch.)
This is before the war, but inside, it still writhes a fresher battle.
..{To crave what's never changed before}..
A/N: I have no idea where this came from. I've been re-reading the Naruto manga, so.... yeah. Still sick. I've suddenly got time on my hands. Reviews and post-it's from strangers are appreciated. You know you love me.
I hope.
