Another request from tate310, this time it's "Bowled Out" from Season 4. Enjoy and comment.
Stepney's visit to Sir Topham Hatt' railway was coming to an end.
"We shall miss you!" said Sir Topham Hatt. Then, he turned to the other engines, especially Duck.
"I'm very pleased with your hard work Duck, but you need help." said Sir Topham Hatt. As Diesel has been sent home, another diesel will take his place. Please do your best not to disturb him. We don't want any more trouble."
"What in the world does he mean by that James?" asked Duck.
"He means that this diesel is difficult!" snorted James. Everyone knew he that hated diesels.
Just then, the new diesel arrived. He surveyed the shed.
"Not bad. I've seen worse. At least you're all clean!
The engines were shocked. They've heard worse from Diesel, but this was beyond their limit!
"It's not your fault, but Sir Topham Hart should scrap you all, and replace you with diesels like me, full of oil, and very fast. You on the other hand, need support and expensive coal to start!"
The other engines were furious! James was so cross, that he let off a cloud of smoke!
Later that morning, Duck was slowly turning on the turntable. The other engines all had a meeting around him.
"Disgraceful!" puffed Gordon.
"Disgusting!" puffed James.
"Despicable!" wheeshed Henry.
"To say things like that is totally unacceptable!" cried Donald and Douglas. "How do we stop it?"
Their chance came soon enough. The diesel was purring comfortally, and the inspector was watching the fitter make the final adjustments. The wind was so heavy, it blew the inspector's hat off his head!
The diesel was ready.
"Look at me!" exclaimed the diesel. "Now I'll show you something!"
He rolled proudly towards his coaches, when trouble occured. Shaking and spluttering, the diesel came to a complete stop!
Meanwhile, the inspector was looking for his hat, when Duck and Stepney pulled the diesel back in.
"My hat!" cried the inspector. "You sucked it through your air intake!"
"Bother your hat!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "The heavy train is due! You'll have to take it Duck. Stepney will have to help too"
"Thank you sir! I love long runs, especially on my last day!"
The engines were soon ready.
"Gordon will take over halfway, so get the train to him as fast as you can!"
"Yes sir!" cried the engines.
The heavy freight train moved slowly out of the shed, and onto the main line. The two engines then set on their way.
"Now for a sprint!" puffed Stepney.
"I'm ready when you are!" puffed Duck.
Soon they passed Edward's station, and charged up Gordon' hill. It was hard getting the heavy freight up the hill, but they did it anyway.
At last, they made it towards the line to the main station.
Gordon was waiting as Duck and Stepney puffed in.
"Hello you two." he said. "You're early. That's one in the headlamp for that smelly diesel."
"James says he's sulking in the shed!" laughed Stepney.
"That oughta serve him right for saying we're outdated!" muttered Gordon as he chortled away.
Next day, everyone came to say goodbye to Stepney.
"Come back soon!" whistled the other engines.
"And you're all welcome on my railway too!" whistled Stepney as he puffed away.
But what happened to that diesel? He snuck out when nobody was looking, leaving two things behind, a nasty smell, and a can of oil.
