Ash Crimson sighed as he took in the familiar sights, sounds, and smells of Paris. The fighting venue was in the single most stereotypical place he could have imagined; a large outdoor café, where, through the Arc du Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower could be seen, glittering against the skyline of Paris. He looked to his left and saw his teammates: King and Terry Bogard. It was an odd arrangement, to be sure, and, to be frank, he wasn't even sure how it happened. In fact, he couldn't even remember.
He shrugged. The universe was a strange place. Just as he was thinking this, he heard the sound of heels clicking against the elaborate brickwork of the street. He turned to face his opponent: a strikingly pretty young woman with an eye patch, wearing a sleek, black suit. Mature, if his memory was something to go by.
She adopted her fighting stance, keeping her hands steady.
And that's when Ash noticed.
"Oooh, what lovely nails you have! They could use a bit more color though." He said, noting their solid shade of pink.
Mature blinked. "I wasn't really asking for advice, but thanks, kid." Then, a wicked grin spread across her face. "I believe you are right… I think a nice shade of your blood-red should do the trick!" she cackled.
Ash smiled and let a small plume of acid-green flame come to life in his palm.
"Be careful what you wish for, mademoiselle!"
With one final look, they both charged at each other.
Ten Minutes later…
"So, then the guy just walks up to me and tries to punch me in the face." Ash mumbled, frowning in concentration.
"Not one word?" Mature asked.
"Not one word." He confirmed, dabbing at her nails with bright red nail polish.
It seems that the two of them set up a private manicure in the middle of their battle.
"The universe is a very strange place." King mumbled, unknowingly paraphrasing Ash's thoughts as she watched Mature, of all people, get a manicure from Ash Crimson.
