It had been one Christmas since Scrooge had changed and true to his word he did change. The ghosts of Christmas past present and future were so pleased with his progress that they decided to grant him one Christmas request. Scrooge was getting on his Santa Clause suit to play Santa for the children at a local orphanage when he saw the ghost of Christmas Past, Present and future.

What have I done wrong, he thought to himself but they were smiling.

"Mr. Scrooge," the ghost of Christmas Past began, "you have done well"

"You have done so well," the ghost of Christmas Present continued , "that we have decided to grant you the gift of one Christmas request"

"Request huh," Scrooge asked causing the ghost of Christmas future to nod.

"I know just what I want," he said, "and it's not what the old me would have wanted at all"

Scrooge thought back to the old him. All the old him would want was money, money and more money. That wasn't the old him. The new him wanted something much more profound.

"You see," he began, "I owe my life to you and you and you and also to Jacob Marly.

"Jacob made some bad choices and because of that he paid the price. I made some bad choices and because of Jacob I did not pay the price. I would like the chains to be removed from Jacob and I would like him to be allowed into the gates of heaven. He has paid his price and removed the price tag from my head"

"Mr. Scrooge," the ghost of Christmas present said, "I believe you have learned the meaning of Christmas"
