DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything related to Star Wars.
I sprint down the endless corridor There is no end, but a beginning; a spark. You can t run from it, but you can choose to embrace it.
I wake up with a start. I'm still in my room, in my bed, except drenched in sweat. Lately I have been having night terrors, they haunt me in the night, they find my worst nightmares, and turn them into a near reality. I stare deeply into the darkness, saturated within it.
"Greetings, apprentice." My master greets me from the doorway, I didn't even notice them until the light in the hallway turned on. Who knows how long they have been standing there.
"Just give me a moment, master." I reply, rubbing my eyes. I get out of bed to turn on the light in my room. My master then closes the airlock door. When I look in the mirror next to my bed, I see something different. I can't quite put my finger on it.
I meet my master at the bridge of the Sith Cruiser, the Annihilator, as I walk up the steps, I graze the railings with my hands. Pulling down my cowl, I kneel before my master looking up at them. "How may I be of service to you, my master?" I gaze at them, asking quietly. "Recite the Sith code, apprentice."
Peace is a lie, there is only passion,
Through passion, I gain strength,
Through strength, I gain power,
Through power, I gain victory,
Through victory, my chains are broken,
The Force shall free me.
"Good, good. Before you leave, set course for Korriban." My master commands. I hesitate before setting the coordinates, "Why Korriban? Isn't it abandoned, master?" I ask. "Do not make such assumptions, apprentice. Korriban is home to immense amounts of knowledge from long ago. It will prove to be a useful tool in your training." I nod in response and the Annihilator jumps into hyperspace. "You are dismissed." My master murmurs.
I exit the room and go to meditate, as I do so, I continuously am taunted by my nightmares. Will they become reality? Or am I simply paranoid. I silently think to myself for hours, perhaps. Maybe just minutes, I really cannot tell.
Once I am finished, I check on the progress to Korriban, Not much longer, I mumble to myself. I take a seat at the radar screen, as usual, nothing. "Nothing." I report. My master nods in response, I continue carefully watching the radar as we approach Korriban.
Once we enter the atmosphere of Korriban, my stomach lurches. I thought it was nothing, until I saw the dead and sandy surroundings of Korriban. It almost felt as though it hid dark secrets from me, just waiting to be uncovered.
As the Annihilator touches down on an abandoned landing pad, I watch the distant hills of rock formations on the surface. Once we exit the ship, I look around the desolate surroundings. Both my master and I pull up our cowls walking to the Sith temple.
As we walk to the blocked off entrance to the temple, my master looks to me. We both open the door with the force, walking in silently. I peer around the room, seeing a lone holocron on a pedestal in the center of the room. As I go to pick it up, my master stops me. "What is it?" I ask, startled. "Don't touch." they say plainly. I then back away, continuing to look around.
"Why are we here anyways, master?" I ask out of curiosity. "We're here to find someone." they reply. Someone? But Korriban is everything but populated. Who could they be looking for here? "Wait here." they command me. I wait beside a door of which my master enters.
-POV CHANGE-
"What do you desire?" the voice asks as I enter the tomb.
"I am searching for a ritual. A ritual to avoid death, completely. As you know I am slowly withering, it pains me to ask, but that is what I desire." I respond, choosing my words carefully.
"And what makes you think you of all people deserve to know this ritual, Thisus?"
Well, here it is. The first chapter of "The Ritual" my first true Fan Fiction. Until next time!
