Disclaimer: Don't own Rookie Blue.

A.N. I've been sitting on this idea since episode 10. I'm surprised that no one grabbed this title.

I was going to start this after episode 10 but once I started writing the later chapters I realized that it was easier to start at episode 13 to be able to incorporate what happened in the last few episodes.

This chapter is just an introduction for the rest of the story.

Enjoy!

They're not together. In fact, he doesn't even know if they have a chance at getting back together. She's gone, undercover with Collins, and he's finally given into the pressure of trying to move on. He's taking it day by day with Marlo but at the end of a long shift, she's not the one he dreams of. Instead, he dreams of a future with a certain brown eyed, brown haired rookie who captured his heart when he thought it wasn't possible. Even once McNally comes back, he stays with Marlo (although he's not sure why) but every night as he drifts off, he dreams of his future with McNally, while Marlo is sleeping next to him.

The dreams become more vivid as he floats after being shot by Kevin Ford. She told him that he was her story in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. She had always been his story, from the second that she broke the crappy lock on the door while he was undercover to nab Anton Hill.

She will be his, forever if he has his way, if he only fights to get back to her. But for now, all he can do is float and picture the future...dream of what they can have together as long as he fights to get back to her.

He dreams of...

...bringing her to meet Sarah...

...proposing to her...

...watching her walk down the aisle towards him...

...discovering that she's missed a shift...

...watching her body change to accommodate their child...

...coaxing her through labor and delivery...

...holding their child for the first time...

...helping her through their child's first illness...

...being scared with her...

...being there when she needs him most...

and most importantly...

...never walking out on her...

A.N. Each "chapter" will be another dream. If you have any more suggestions, I'd be happy to take a stab at it. Most of these dreams are written in some form, hopefully over my winter break I'll be able to finish all of them.

Reviews make my day so let me know what you think.
