Refined Destruction

By SDMaxwell

It was almost that he danced with death, his movement fluid and precise. It was a dance so intricate, so basic that the world ceased to exist beyond him and his partner.

He sidestepped a blow to his head, ducked under the outstretched arm, and slid a knife between unsuspecting ribs in less time than it took his victim to blink. He slid his feet forward two steps, his boots seeming to glide across the carpeted floor.

The first fell to the floor with a strangled moan and the second leapt in to take his place. The second partner brought a blade, as if that would increase his level of skill while in the ring with such an expert dancer.

He spared the pitiful weapon barely a glance and held his arms out as if inviting a fellow practitioner to join in his display. Before his partner could appropriately react however he had spun away, his own knife embedded in the unfortunate man's chest.

The second came to his knees, pain-blind eyes staring up at the devil.

Crimson trickled down the pale arms and dripped from the silvery blade onto the soaked carpet. Cornflower blue eyes watched the life fade from the faces of his two victims. "Sorry." came the whispered words from rose-petal lips. A trail of glittering tears lined the curves of his flushed cheeks and a smudge of ruby red marred the pale skin of his forehead as blond hair was brushed aside. "I am truly sorry, sirs, but I must. You see, I did ask if you would leave. I'm sorry you found that you could not."

Stepping over the bloody corpses, the Desert Prince left the room, Death swirling around him with an agile grace few could match. Only gods danced with Death and survived.

Duo: eyes SD Y'know what? I was going to be upset because you haven't written any fiction for me for a year or more but now? Forget I asked.

SD: Which remind me; I found that one I did where I made you blind.

Duo: O.o
