Believable

A NaruHina Ficlet

It'd be easy to just agree. It's always easier to just nod and agree and believe. Maybe she should stop that. Maybe she should frown and ask. Maybe she shouldn't trust what he says, just because it comes out of his mouth.

It's a problem. It's a big problem.

He says he got hit in the mouth. She trusts that. Even if it looks more like someone's been biting his lips with irrational kisses, she believes what he says.

He says it's ketchup on his shirt. She agrees with him. Even if she can tell it's obviously lipstick, she trusts him.

He says it's a bruise from training. She doesn't question it. Even if it looks more like a cross between a bite and a hickey, she agrees with him.

It's easier than pointing out the obvious. It's always easier to avoid the problem. She shouldn't however. She should hold up his shirt, she should poke at the love-bite, she should say something. Just because she loves him, doesn't mean she should believe his lies.

He makes them unbelievable. Maybe he wants her to say something. Maybe he knows she should stomp her foot and disagree. Maybe it's just a matter of time before he wants to tell her he's leaving for his pink-haired cohort.

Maybe she's afraid of that. That's why she believes him, even when he isn't believable at all.
