A/N: read and review please, it would make my day:)
It wasn't her brain, she knew, trying to distract her from her work, Hermione was known to the wizarding world as the brightest witch of her age.
It was her heart.
It was her heart, her feelings, her wants, her needs, Draco Malfoy with his hair, eyes, kisses,-
Hermione shook herself from her train of thought, desperately trying to focus on her paperwork.
Hermione Granger worked in the Department of Magical Enforcement, a top paying ministry job she had earned through years of hard work and being a devoted employee. As she worked through a staggering pile of paperwork, her thoughts drifted to the only person who seemed to penetrate the walls of her workaholic brain: Draco Malfoy. Yes, the arrogant, prejudiced, bigoted, ferret transforming Draco Malfoy with his hairs, eyes, kisses,-
'Stop it' Hermione scolded herself for letting her thoughts drift from her work again.
Nothing had ever stood between Hermione and completing her tasks before, so how come there were thoughts of Draco Malfoy intruding her mind while she was trying desperately hard to stay on task?
'Because he's a Malfoy, that's why' thought Hermione, slightly irritated with her lack of concentration.
Draco Malfoy had come into her life three months ago, a changed man. The war, Hermione had to admit changed him, and when he had gotten rid of his pureblood ideologies, Draco was a rather nice person to talk to. He was even enjoyable to talk to sometimes. Draco was intelligent, witty, open- minded, and surprisingly informed on the current going- on's of both the wizarding and muggle worlds. Draco spoke with a deep, smooth voice, attracted many with his steely grey eyes, never wore a silky, white-blond strand of hair out of place, and dressed impeccably (and rather handsomely, but Hermione would never admit it to him, he was still Draco Malfoy for Merlin's sake). He smiled with that famous smirk of his making him look, if possible, more dashing. Draco had asked Hermione out to coffee one day after work, and she had to admit, she had had a good time after they got past all the awkwardness, but they were both blushing all throughout the date. A couple of days later Draco asked Hermione to dinner and it was clear they had a spark when she found herself kissing back when he kissed her goodnight. So officially, Draco became her boyfriend, and as the months passed, she fell more and more in love with him, and him with she. They had shared so many deep, passionate, serious, silly, comfortable, and of course irritating moments with each other that Hermione and Draco felt as if they were long- lost lovers looking for each other and now they were finally found.
As Hermione worked her way through her last bits of paperwork, she smiled to herself, content with her life.
Just as Hermione put away her quill, ready to go home, Draco burst through the door to her office, looking frantic but relieved that he had reached her in time.
"Hermione I would've gotten here sooner, except the bloody ministry was loaded with people trying to leave" said Draco.
In his hand, Draco held a bouquet of her favorite flowers, momentarily forgotten in his rush to see Hermione.
Hermione however, couldn't take her eyes off the flowers, a small grin on her face, her eyes alight, full of love.
As Draco followed her eyes, he held out the bouquet of flowers, a grin and a slight blush on his face as well, "Oh, and these are for you."
Draco and Hermione locked eyes at the same moment, his steely grey eyes capturing her velvety brown ones, they were full of love for him, as his eyes were for her.
