A/N: Hey all, so I don't really know where this story is going, cuz I'm kinda just letting it write itself... so to be on the safe side let's just say that it's AU!

Also, if this chapter seems off in any way please blame my cats! As I was writing this, they told me in no uncertain terms that if I didn't play with them they would run riot by destroying furniture, causing mischief, and in general do anything they could to be cute little nuisances! Due to that I was multi-tasking the whole time while writing this, lol! =D

As per usual, I own nothing (unfortunately)!

"Jeremy?"

Jeremy Gilbert froze in the middle of reaching for his maths book, his mouth gaping slightly as he beheld the most gorgeous guy he had ever seen walking down the school's hallway. With short dark hair, a dark navy button-down shirt, heavenly ass-gripping jeans, and smirk that made hearts melt; this new addition to Mystic Falls High was an immediate favourite.

"Jeremy?... Jeremy?... Jeeeeremy?..."

As the handsome stranger sauntered down the tiled hallway, flashing a flirtatious smile to any woman that took his fancy, Jeremy's entire world came to a still.

"Jeremy?... Jeremy!..."

As if in slow motion, Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Handsome swept past Jeremy and his locker, brown piercing eyes briefly meeting his own chocolate ones, before turning back to look where they were going.

"OW! Caroline, what the hell? That hurt!" he said rubbing the brightly coloured mark on his arm, where she had pinched him.

The impeccably dressed, blonde beauty beside him smiled with a 'who me?' smile of malicious glee. "Well Jeremy that should teach you in future not to ignore me! You know I don't like being ignored!"

With exasperation he stared at his best friend Caroline Forbes, wondering what the hell he did in a previous life to deserve her 'friendship'.

"I wasn't ignoring you Caroline, I just wasn't paying attention to you," he said before grabbing his history book, and closing his locker.

"I'll say," she said with playful disdain as she walked away. "You were far to busy checking out Mr. Hottie-Hot-Hottie!"

"I wasn't checking out Mr. Hot-... I wasn't checking out anybody!" he replied, jogging a few steps to catch up with her retreating form.

"Oh yeah? Then why are you holding your history book?" she said, raising her eyebrow at him and smirking.

"Duh, I need it for class!" he replied with contempt.

"Yeah, but you have maths next..."

It took Jeremy a whole three seconds to comprehend her statement, before his exclamation of "shit!" had him running back to his locker in search of the correct book.

"See you at lunch!" called after him laughingly as she walked jauntily away, her heels clip-clopping as they went.

A/N: So yeah... what did you think? Love it? Hate it? Let me know! =D

I'm thinking that I'll probably continue this, but if you DEFINITELY want me to continue it, you know what to do!
