Percy grabbed her hand, dragging her outside. "What are we going now, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth asked. He sighed. They had spent the whole day together, but he still didn't think that he clearly got his message through. Percy looked up, and saw the whole sky drenched in stars. "I wonder if Zoe is watching us up there.." he thought, mournfully.
He looked back at Annabeth.
"Here goes nothing.."
"Annabeth?" "Yes, Percy?" she replied. "For a long time, I've wanted to tell you
just how much you mean to me." he said, nervously. Annabeth fell silent,
knowing that this was important. "When we first met, we felt like we kind
of had to hate each other, but we became friends anyway. Even then,
I kind of liked you. As we went on more quests, we found out that
we work well together, and our friendship grew into something
new." Percy was blushing now, but he tried to hide it.
"And when you had to go on that Athena Parthenos quest alone,
I-I really hated letting you go.." "I really missed you too, Percy.."
Annabeth said, remembering. "And when we finally found
each-other, we fell into Tartarus! But.. That's where I needed
you most. I..I probably wouldn't have made it out
without you.."
Percy remembered how Annabeth helped him get out of the
Cocytus, and Annabeth remembered how awful it was when
Percy was taken from her by the arai...
"That's when I realized," he continued, "That you mean so much
more to me than just a girlfriend, Annabeth.." Annabeth was in tears.
"I love you Wise Girl..You make my life worth living."
And then she pulled him into a kiss.
Anything could've happened then.
The gods could've started another war.
The Titans could've risen again.
Heck, even if Gaea woke up again, he would not care.
Percy would kindly tell them to "Chill for a second."
Nothing could ruin this kiss under the stars.
