Author's Note: 244. That's the number of stories that were sitting on my hard drive collecting dust because I lack the energy and time to take care of them as I once did. My betaing pattern has always been to write, then type up if written on paper, the story, read it aloud to my beloved Jack and our children, editing as I go, and then finally format and post. Sadly, this part is simply taking too much of my time and energy, and my beloved Jack and I have too little time together in person these days to be able to keep up with my stories. So what to do? Give up writing? I actually considered it for a while, tried to make excuses to myself other than the large number of stories collecting cyber dust on my computer, as to why I lacked the energy and Muse to write new tales. And then, with the turn of the new year, I decided to stop running and face the problem. The problem is, quite frankly, that once one gets so bogged down in formatting and editing that writing is no longer a pleasure but the actual posting of those writings becomes a hassle and - egad! - work, it's time to cut something out, and that will never be the writing process. So, in short, yes, there will be mistakes in this tale. Yes, it's missing about half of the header information I usually include. But I wrote it for pleasure and am posting it in hopes of sharing that pleasure with others. Do with it as you will.

It was just another night watching over New York and dealing with the usual stupid thugs when he spied the helpless, little female. Raphael grumbled and groused, but in the end, he did the right thing, swooping down and plucking her up out of the traffic. He was prepared to set her free when another female came out of the dark and kissed him.

She had pointed ears, a tail, and whiskers like the tiny female he still held against his plastron, but unlike the animal's, hers were made of black leather. She might resemble a cat, but the female kissing him was no cat. She was a bona fide, red-hot, and clearly semi-crazy, from her cat costume, woman. There could be no mistaking her true species as her body poured heat into his, her tongue slipping pass his beak and plunging steadfastly down his throat.

The young Turtle was just beginning to release a moan and pull the stranger closer to him when she suddenly peeled away from his muscular body. She flashed him a sensual grin. "Thanks," she said and vanished as swiftly as she had come, taking the cat from his arms with her.

Raphael clutched the edge of the building upon which he stood for support. His knees were too weak, and his mind too shocked, to think to go after her at first. The Catwoman of legend was real!

His grin widened as he remembered something he'd heard Donnie reading earlier about humans and their stupid superstitions. In China and Great Britain, a black crossing the path was believed to be good luck, but here in the United States, it was supposed to be bad luck. Raphael threw his head back and laughed. A black cat crossing his path would always be good luck, he decided and set out to see if he could find that Catwoman again.
