Your kisses on my lips.
The way you hold me.
When you say "I love you".
Those are all the little moments that I hold on to.
That I love.
That I cherish.
-Lily
"Evans!" James called from down the corridor, note in hand.
"Yes?" she asked, turning around to face her boyfriend.
"This is a sweet little note," James said, holding it up in front of his face, just too high for Lily to reach. Her eyes went wide. "What, is it not for me?" he asked.
"It was for you, but I was going to put more on it. I wanted to do something special for our one-year anniversary," she said.
"Well then, out with it. What did you want to do?" James persisted.
"Meet me on the quidditch pitch at midnight," she whispered.
"Do my ears deceive me? Lily Evans is breaking the rules. I must get this published in The Daily Prophet." She hit him playfully on the shoulder.
"Ow," he said, even though it didn't hurt in the slightest.
"Just shut your big mouth and meet me there."
"For sure."
James walked through the archway to the quidditch pitch. He immediately spotted the picnic and candles that had been set up in the middle of the quidditch pitch, along with a smiling Lily.
"Lily, you didn't need to do this," he said as he approached her.
"Oh the things I do for you," she said, standing up and hugging James.
"Just a hug?" he said, "It is our one-year anniversary. Don't I deserve a kiss?" He asked, knowing that was exactly what Lily was about to do.
"You and your big mouth are going to ruin the moment," she said, leaning in closer to James, but he wasn't going to let her get the last word in. Just before they kissed, he spoke again.
"I think you're big mouth is what's ruining it."
"Just kiss me, James."
"Fine."
And he did just that.
