Every day she sat at the window, just waiting, hoping for a glimpse.

He never went out at the same time, it was different every day, sometimes he wouldn't go out at all. She'd kept a diary for a while, trying to see if there was a pattern to his comings and goings. There wasn't. The only constant was that he always went out with the other one, his friend.

She'd often wondered where they'd go. In her head, it was to far and distant lands, on dangerous and heroic missions, but she knew that in reality, this was unlikely.

Sometimes he'd go out with the other two as well, to a pub or club. Once she began to follow them, but then chickened out on the way. What if he were to see her at wherever they were going, what if he began to talk to her? She wouldn't know what to say, what can you say to someone you're sure could love you if only they had the chance, and if you weren't such as coward as to actually talk to them for once.

But then, maybe it would be ok if he started talking to her. He knew she'd never be able to go up to him and start a conversation, she was far too shy. But perhaps, maybe, once he'd come up to her and it would be ok. She might manage a few syllables. Maybe even a sentence, who knew?

She'd had a dream about him once. Actually, she'd had dreams about him far more than once, but this was one in particular. She dreamed that he'd knock on the door one day, asking to borrow something or another, and they'd immediately hit it off. He'd come in, and then…

But no. That wouldn't happen. She didn't even think that he and the others were even aware that there was anyone living below them, let alone her, she who loved him, her one, her only. He was so muscular and manly. As manly as it was possible for him to be, anyway.

One eye still on the window, she flicked the telly on and picked up a banana to munch on. Will and Grace was on, and she sat in the armchair to watch it, still alert to the slightest movement at the window.

There was a knock at her door. It could be- could it? Her dreams come true at last?

She looked at the blurry figure behind the glass – it had to be him, there was no mistaking it.

She opened the door.

'Hello' said Bollo. 'I am Bollo, live upstairs. Do you have cup of sugar we could borrow?'

N.B - she's a gorilla too by the way, I dont think that really comes across, but I couldn't really say anything without it being kinda obvious that it was Bollo she liked, and I wanted to keep that to the end. I did have her eating a banana though. Please review!
