Author's Note: The song is Up Against the Wall by Boys Like Girls. Once again, if you haven't checked them out you should! Seriously. Hehe. Read and review. Enjoy! I don't own LOST or the song.
The forecast: a car crash.
I stared at the burning car in horror. Then I heard sirens. Jumping into my car, I rushed off. As I drove I grabbed my cell phone and dialed a now familiar number. The phone rang three times before she answered.
"Hello?"
"Kate, can you meet me at the airport?"
"Jack, if you want me to fly-"
"No, Kate. Meet me at our usual spot. I don't want to fly anywhere. Can you just meet me?"
She sighed. "Fine. I'll see you in ten."
"Bye."
Then Kate hung up. I sped towards the airport, anxious.
I'm wasted. I still taste it.
When I got to the airport I parked my car and waited by the fence. The sun was shining high in the sky and there weren't any clouds. I heard a car and looked around. Kate parked her car next to mine and got out. I sighed and then coughed. I could taste the alcohol that I had been drinking.
"Jack, why did you call me?" she snapped.
"Hello to you too."
She rolled her eyes. "What do you want?"
"I wanted to meet you. I miss you."
I think she smelled the alcohol because she asked, "Jack, have you been drinking?"
Slowly I nodded. Kate gave me a look of disgust and started to walk away.
"Kateā¦" I grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
No rewinds. No second times. And I can't deny your eyes. You know I try to read between the lines. I saw a warning sign.
Her stunning hazel eyes looked at me disgusted. "What?" she snapped.
"Look, I miss you."
"I hate seeing you like this! Why do you have to do this?"
"Kate, we never should've left."
She groaned. "Here we go again," Kate murmured.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You always tell me that it was a mistake to leave! Every time I see you, Jack. You always say that!"
"I'm sorry, Kate."
She looked at me skeptically. "Are you telling me the truth, Jack?"
I nodded. "Yes, Kate." Her expression changed and I tried to figure it out. I didn't know what she was thinking but I knew this was my last try. "I love you, Kate. I love you and I miss you."
"Would you stop killing yourself if I said I loved you?"
"Yes."
"And would you stop saying that it was a mistake leaving the island?"
"Yes."
"Would you stop trying to go back?"
I was silent.
"Jack," she said warningly.
"Yes," I finally said.
"Good. I hate seeing you like this and destroying yourself. It kills me, having to watch you."
"I'm sorry, Kate," I said quietly.
She didn't reply. Instead, Kate looked into my eyes.
And I can't deny your eyes.
"I love you Kate. I really do," I whispered.
"I love you too."
I grabbed her right hand and kissed it gently. She smiled.
It's over. The weather's been better.
Then Kate grabbed my other hand. "I'm glad you decided to change," she murmured. "I really love you, Jack."
"I love you too, Kate."
And then you feel me up against the wall.
Without another word, Kate pushed me against the fence and kissed me passionately.
I kissed her back as her smooth hands ran up and down my body. I kept my hands around her waist as she felt me. Our tongues clashed in a battle of love and passion.
Then Kate pulled away and began to kiss my neck. She pushed me harder against the fence as her hands moved down my pants.
"Oh God, Jack. I love you," she whispered.
Then I let my hands explore her body as our tongues battled again.
For Kate's sake I decided that I would quit my habits and stay by her.
