Some random Xemnas/Saïx stuff. My first Fanfic in YEARS so I appoligize for being rather rusty...
Xemnas, Saïx, and the whole Kingdom Hearts thing belongs not to me but to SquEnix and Disney.
He had always believed that he wasn't one that could be called a jealous man. How could he be when he wasn't supposed to have a heart or all of those trifling emotions that were attached to the useless thing? He wasn't one who should find himself pining over things that he couldn't have. What was worse was that he had no reason for what he what he desired, it made no sense to want for it. What he wanted was to be seen as one that looked ahead with both eyes, not as one that was found with his gaze wandering. He would be the one that would obtain the power that his predecessor only dreamed of but was too weak to get within his grasp. It was for that power that he had sacrificed everything for... So why now? Why, when things were going well, when the countless hearts gathered for him by the bearer of the Keyblade came his way, did he find his attention drifting from his objective?
His orange eyes lifted to gaze up at the moon; it was full tonight and hanging low in the sky. As such it looked so much bigger then normal and seemed to fill his vision, making everything glow with its soft light and he found himself bristling, eyes narrowing to glare at the celestial object. He lifted a hand to lay it against the window over moon then closed his hand into a fist as if he could so easily crush it. All the strange feelings, sensations they were all 'his' fault... In his mind's eye he could see the one that caused him so much bother and could almost picture the state of unrest he would be in currently. He wouldn't be himself right now, bathed in the light of the full moon he was more like a feral animal then a man. He would be pacing his room, growling, striking out at those around him and at the same time his yellow eyes so much like those of a wolf would be forever locked on the moon. It was like Number VII was in love with the moon and what made him feel most like a fool was the fact that he was acting as if the moon could actually reach out and take the blue haired Nobody away with it. It was pure stupidity on his part to fear something inanimate. As if to taunt him into a further state of discontent he could almost hear a cruel voice in the back of his mind whispers about 'her'.
He knew it wasn't possible for the other man to love the moon but what if it wasn't the moon itself that he had to fear? He had heard the stories about there being a Princess on the moon surely they were just that, stories. As make believe as any other fairytale told to children to make them shut up and go to sleep at night. "More foolishness! As if she's even real, as if she even poses a threat." He said, his tone forced to sound amused as such an fanciful thought. Why did he find himself wanting nothing more then to go and check, to see with his own eyes that Saïx was where he was supposed to be?
He lifted his closed fist from the cool glass only to bring it against it once more, hard enough that it made his knuckles sting a little. He felt angry at himself as he realized he was attempting to convince himself that some woman wasn't going to appear from the moon... truly this was a sad moment in his life, "If she tried I would merely have to kill her." He said, simply then he pushed away from the glass. He did his best to ignore the glow that seemed to fill the room, mocking him as he left to do what he wanted to do the most despite the foolishness of it.
He was going to check on Saïx...
