The Moor was full of beautiful creatures and magic. There, Gnomes, Pixies and Fairies lived in perfect harmony, helping each other through life. Humans were raised and protected by these magical creatures until they weren't strong enough to survive by their own rules. Ariana was one of the most beautiful women on Earth. She was pale as snow with long black hair and charming green eyes. She was kind to everyone and loved by Humans and Nature itself. Her father was the first king of Human history, a rightful ruler that brought a long term peace. They lived in a castle just near the Moor, on the peak of a hill. In a rainy day, Ariana lost herself in the darkest part of the forest. She couldn't find the way back home and started crying thinking how her father would have been worried about her disappearance. A presence felt her sadness and anguish : " Why are you crying?", a deep voice said. "I'm lost, sir, I can't find the way back to the castle, can you help me?", she replied. " Let me see what I can do but, please, don't be afraid of me.", he said. Ariana nodded and the man revealed himself. He was different from any other creature or human. He was tall and majestic. His skin was emerald green and he had three black horns on his head. His eyes were amber and magnetic. Ariana wasn't scared at all but when she saw that her interlocutor had long, dark wings, she felt completely overwhelmed by emotions. " I'm Darksoul, you must be the princess of Humans.", he said, breaking the silence. " I…I'm Ariana. You have wings, you are a fairy, why are you in a dark place like this, all alone?", the princess replied. " I'm the guardian of this place, I protect light through darkness, it's the meaning of my existence.", he explained, " Have you ever flown before?". She didn't have time to answer that question as Darksoul held her and took flight. Ariana was completely amazed by the view of the Moor, the villages and her beautiful castle. Darksoul then decided to bring her beyond the clouds, in his favorite place. There, between the shiny stars, they felt an immense sense of joy and empathy, like they were destined to be together. When Darksoul brought Ariana back to her castle they promised each other that they would have met again. Day by day their love grew stronger. The King blessed their union as a proof of the good relationship between the magical creatures and Humans. And, years after their wedding, they had a beautiful child they called Maleficent. She was charming as her mother, with pale skin and dark brown hair. The little creature also displayed her father's heritage. Two horns grew on her head and she had strong wings. But her eyes' magnetism was impossible to escape. They were green with amber shades. Her birth brought infinite joy in both reigns. But that happiness wasn't meant to last. After Maleficent's first year of life, Ariana fell ill. Darksoul tried every kind of magic in order to save her but the princess died, leaving everyone in despair. The King, blinded by the loss of his beloved daughter, thought that Ariana's illness was the fault of magic and declared war to the inhabitants of the Moor. Darksoul decided to fight for his people and for his daughter. He thought that one day the little Maleficent would have reunited again the two reigns. The battle caused many deaths and a great grief. Darksoul died trying to protect his home until his last breath of life. The King decided to leave the castle on the hill and build another one far away from the Moor. As the war continued, Maleficent grew up all alone with her father's necklace as the only memory of her parents. The future was uncertain and only a rightful ruler or a great evil could actually bring peace between the two reigns.
