She appeared in the doorway, her face concealed in the shadows. He finished setting up his painting of uncle, and began to sort out his other goods. He would have to go pack up his camp. He turned to the door, letting out a short inaudible gasp at the sight of the waterbender.

"katara?" He choked, she stood there for a while. She spoke in a level tone, he was almost mesmerized by the flow of her voice. He had never noticed it. Of course he had never met her when she was not fighting him back... Or captured by him. Hey! He had a reason to capture her that time, to give back her necklace.

"You may have everyone else fooled with your whole 'transformation', but you and I both know you have struggled with doing the right think in the past. If-" He grabbed her hands and blue eyes met amber. He looked at her with sincerity, calmly speaking to her without any indication of how much he feared her.

"I know, and there is nothing I can do to change the past. I realized that my honor could not be restored by the fire nation, until this war is over. I will do anything I can to help Aang to stop it." He gave her a short sweet smile. "Thats a promise."

She stepped into the doorway, her shoulders relaxed. She slammed the door. Zuko went back to his unpacking, but was startled by his door opening again. He spoke, sweetly when he saw it was katara again. "Yes?"

"I think your hair looks better that way." She closed the door again. His hand went up to feel his hair. He muttered a quick thank you, and finished unpacking.
