A/N: This is based upon a truly true story, involving me, my bestest friend, and a few randoms, who also happen to be my friends. I love them all, just to clarify. :)
Rukia replaced Phyllis (Firisu, my beta-reader~), Renji replaced me (XD), Hisagi replaced Alex, Byakuya replaced Rannee, and Ichigo replaced Prudence.

I Miss You

Dear Rukia, I wrote slowly, hiding the ripped-to-be-small piece of paper with my pencil case as I glanced up to make sure the teacher hadn't noticed me not paying attention. Satisfied that I hadn't raised suspicions, I went back to my note.

'Sup? This class is boooooring. It's a bit cold over here, too, but if I close the window, I'll be hot again within seconds, so… Reply soon. Love from Renji.

My letter didn't contain much depth, but that wasn't the point. I folded it into a small square and quickly counted the rows and seats of the classroom.

Rukia Kuchiki, third row, fifth seat from the right, I wrote on the front so that my neighbour would know who to pass it to. Inspiration struck, and I wrote the code for this English class—ELAA—in place of the postcode. I drew a small picture of a rabbit as a stamp, knowing Rukia would appreciate it, and, pleased with my work, I subtly passed it to Hisagi on my right. He looked at me in confusion, and I smiled at him briefly before looking back up at the whiteboard, pretending to concentrate.

I saw, from the corner of my eye, my note passed from Hisagi to Ichigo to Byakuya, each receiving it with a smile. Finally, it reached Rukia, and she smiled, too. She read it and pulled out a small notepad. She wrote her reply and sent it back via the same route I'd used. I was surprised, but proud, that no one outside the chain seemed to have noticed our exchange yet. I could become a drug trafficker with these skills.

Renji Abarai, third row, first seat from the right, it read on the front in Rukia's familiar neat print. I opened it and read her response, well aware of my smile.

You should be paying attention. We have a test next week, remember? And nothing much is 'sup'. –Rukia.

I immediately turned the paper over and wrote a quick response on the back.

Bah, test… You know, I was gonna tell you your sup sentence was senseless but it was actually grammatically correct. Nice job. :D Love from Renji.

I put 'return to sender' on the front and passed it back along my friend chain, enjoying this game. I could see from Hisagi's face that he was having fun sneaking, too. The others were concentrating slightly more, and Rukia was taking notes, or so it appeared. I rethought that when she passed her notes in my direction.

I was going to show you my summary sheets, but if you don't want my help… I could imagine her heaving a dramatic sigh here, as she would have, had this conversation been verbal. On another note, you've disturbed Byakuya. Shame on you.

I had just begun to write my response when the teacher called the class to attention and told us to go. Class was over already, and I hadn't taken in a word. I picked up my books, quickly hiding the note in my diary, and followed Hisagi outside.

"Oh, my god, I haven't talked to you in ages! I miss you," I declared to Rukia as soon as we left the classroom.

"I miss you, too," Rukia answered, laughing.
