A Day Time Occurrence

Author Notes: Yes! Yes, my dear readers, this is another continuation of the beloved Occurrence fics! I was shocked when the inspiration to write this hit me. I'm not totally satisfied with it, but I think it will do until I find another idea to quite possibly, write another one, much longer one. Maybe one that's 1000 words!

Oh, and I also changed my penname. About that--the other one was horribly outdated, since my hair isn't red anymore! I think The Flying Author makes me seem more like a super hero! Who saves people from reading really bad fics!

The next time Rose Weasley met Scorpius Malfoy it happened to be broad daylight, in between classes, in a highly busy courtyard. She looked shyly over at him, wondering if he had spotted her, only to find him staring intently at her. Rose gave her friends a lame excuse for leaving them—she needed to go look at some stonework for her History of Wizarding Architecture class—and discreetly made her way over to Scorpius.

"You know, one of these days, people are going to think you're stalking me." Rose said, as she approached Scorpius.

"Maybe," Scorpius replied, fumbling with his hands.

Rose smiled and looked away. She didn't really to know what to say to him. Until recent events she had thought he was an annoying toe rag, and in all their recent meetings, there hadn't been much talking, just snogging.

"If you don't want to talk, I can always find a cozy broom closet," Scorpius provided, trying to break the silence. Rose blushed and looked up at him.

As she opened her mouth, the bell for class rang. "I'll have to take you up on it," she said, and began to move away. She thought Scorpius would let her go to class, and was not expecting him to take a hold of her wrist, spin her around, and gently kiss her. He pulled away, and gathered his things, and set off to class.

But before he could get very far, he felt someone running up next to him, and he turned around and saw Rose. He thought maybe he had forgotten something. What Scorpius did not expect was to have Rose take him by the collar of his robes and kiss him like her life depended on it. He immediately kissed her back, hearing a few wolf whistles in the background.

Before they could get very far, both heard the stern voice of Professor Longbottom. "Really now, in the middle of the courtyard? First off, Mister Malfoy, Miss Weasley, you're both late. Secondly, public displays of affection are strictly against the rules here at Hogwarts, and thirdly, Mister Malfoy, your tie does not belong on the ground!" He finished, holding Scorpius' disgruntled tie up for him to see.

"I'll be seeing both of you in detention!" Professor Longbottom snapped, before walking away, shaking his head. "Kids these days," he muttered, before stopping in his tracks. 'Wait a second,' he thought to himself, 'Was I really stern on those kids? Was I actually threatening and authoritative? This calls for a pie at dinner!' And he hurried off to write to his wife before he was too late to class.

Back in the courtyard, Rose wiped her face with her sleeve and picked up her bag. "Guess I'll see you in detention," she said, walking backwards a few paces.

"Seriously," said Scorpius, slipping his tie back on. "See you later Rose."

"Yeah, bye," She said as she walked away. As Rose walked away, she couldn't help but think that she had walked away from one amazing guy with a really lame goodbye. She turned around to say something else, but he was gone, only a few dead leaves blew around in his path. "See you at detention," she said as she walked to class.
