Sweet Azphel. They had to go together? Curse her father. He knew she hated him! Why pair the two together? She hated his guts with such a vengeance…
"Aww, come on Sam. It's not that bad. At least you aren't stuck with an Elyos." Ean pointed out.
"Shut up." Sam muttered, scowling.
Ean chuckled. "Two best buds, together alone. And it's an easy assignment. How much better could it be?"
"If you don't shut up I'm going to hurt you." Sam whirled on him, face set in an angry scowl.
"You're going to get us caught, being so loud." Ean laughed.
Sam would growl, turning back around and moving forward again. A quick kill, that's all. "I can do this by myself."
"There's not an I in team honey pie." Ean touched her shoulder, and found himself on the ground and looking up at her.
"Don't. Touch. Me." Sam glared, then turned to creep stealthily along the ridge.
Ean got to his feet. "Sheesh. Easy tiger." He laughed at his own joke, only earning another glare.
Except, when they got to the location there was nothing. "A setup." Sam said to herself, turning in a slow circle, dual daggers bare.
"Nothing here kitty." Ean stood next to her, and completely didn't see it when Sam dropped to the ground and kicked his legs out from under him. Ean let out a muffled 'hey!', which came out as more of a "Mmph!" due to Sam's hand over his mouth.
"I told you to shut up." Sam moved, letting him up.
Ean rested a hand on her shoulder. "Oh but all I-"
This time Sam had grabbed the hand touching her, whirled around and used the grip on him to slam him into the ground. "I said don't touch me."
Laughter rang out, Sam's father approaching. "You do realize this was all a joke, right?"
Gulp.
