This is one of the many oneshots form my iPod, and is also going to be stamped on each story that is one!

Unexpected help

Flames seemed to fill the laboratories, filling the air with heat and the suffocating smell of ash. The turrets were mostly gone, while others awaited their fiery fate in an untouched corner. The companion cubes had already been obliterated and soon the weighted storage cubes would be too.

GLaDOS was desperately turning on all the sprinklers while trying to contact someone from the outside world for help.

Each call was met by a scoff or something sounding like," Buck you."

She was running out of options and the fire was beginning to creep into her chamber.

She knew the sprinklers would run out of water, then the facility would be doomed. She prepared to manually shut down herself to prevent any pain from going through, but she heard something distictly familiar.

Was that? No, it couldn't be!

She was proven wrong when Chell came running in, holding a fire extinguisher. Ash covered her thouroughly and burns were noticable on her skin.

She shot a stream at the fire breaching through the wall. It retreated with a hiss, but it would soon rise again with more ferocity then last time.

GLaDOS wanted to make a witty remark, one that would degrade the lifeform in front of her to a sniffling little weakling. But she couldn't, not one insult came to mind for the super computer as she watched Chell fight the flames.

Chell was gasping for breath, the thick smoke sticking to the inside of her throat and burning her lungs.

GLaDOS snapped out of her stupor, and continued to try and calm the flames down with the sprinklers.

Although it was unexpected that Chell came back after the threat the AI gave her, she was secretly GLaD for the help.
