Hi! I'm currently listening to the new Katy Perry song entitled 'The One That Got Away', and it's stuck in my head, and I simply can't help writing this. Hope you'll like it :) oh btw it'll probably make more sense if you watch the music video :)
"How was it?" James asked her, as he sees her taking off her boots and rappelling gears.
"It was fine," she muttered, not really bothering to reply. She put her belongings into Nate's closet in the office. Then she quickly went upstairs to tell Nate what she found. Just as she was walking along the staircase, she saw a picture of them hanging on the wall. Her team. Her used-to-be team.
She sighed, and tears started to well up in her eyes as she remembered the incident on that night.

"You should've checked all of it! Dammit Parker!" shouted Eliot.
"So now it's my fault? You're the one who flirted with the secretary!" snarled Parker.
She knew it was her fault, but she just couldn't help herself.
"Oh yeah? You're gonna blame me?" Eliot snapped.
Nate, who has been silently watching the confrontation took place, took a deep breath. "Enough!" he yelled. Silence passed between them.
Eliot looked at Parker with such expression on his face. The job went wrong, and now Parker is just making it worse. "Fine! Have it your way!" he shouted at her, headed to the door and slammed it behind him. He took off, into his truck and away.
She should have stopped him. But she didn't.
"Fine!" she yelled back at him, filled with anger. He's just a grumpy, stupid, hitter.
If she knew what was going to happen, she would never yell at him. Never.
She remembers exactly what happened on the next day.
"Where's Eliot?" asked Nate impatiently. They have been waiting for him to find an agreement on yesterday's problem.
"Gone? Who cares about him anyway?" she muttered. She still haven't gotten over their argument yesterday.
She wishes she hadn't said that. Deep inside, she cares about him. A lot. He's like the big brother she never had.
Annoyed with everyone asking Eliot's whereabouts, she went over to the couch and switched the television on. It was the news. Boring stuff. Nate must have been watching it yesterday. She was just about to browse through the other channels when she saw a familiar face being shown on the screen.
'A body was found in a wreckage earlier last night. It was believed to be an accident. The truck went off course and swerved off a cliff. The driver died on impact.'
As much as she was mad with him, those words stung her ears more then she expected it.

She misses how he always stared and rolled his eyes at her quirk remarks. How he always said that there's something wrong with her.
It took a year before James replaced him on the team, but she would never, ever, forget the long-haired man, who always cared about her, who was Hardison's best friend, who always protected her, whom her last word for him was 'Fine!'.
Eliot was furious. He drove away as fast as he could. As he was speeding on the road, he fished into his pockets. He felt something round. He took it out, looked down and saw that it was the bracelet that Parker had given him, the one she bought in Juarez. His anger lessen a bit, and smiled a little.
That was how he got distracted from the road, swerving off the cliff.
But Parker never knew that.
All this money can't buy me a time machine, no
Can't replace you with a million rings, no
I shoulda told you want you meant to me, whoa
'Cause now I pay the price
In another life, I would make make you stay, so I don't have to say you were the one that got away, the one that got away.
