Howdy y'all! This is just a one shot I came up with. I had always wondered what Hayley would think if she was watching Hotch's life from above. This will be from Hayley's POV. I do not own Criminal Minds.
Aaron, I could never be more proud to say that we were married to each other than now. I now know that I definitely chose the right man. You are the perfect role model for Jack, and you have done an amazing job raising him. Despite the amount of work your job demands, you have always been there for Jack, and I couldn't have asked for someone better to raise our son.
I wish I was alive so I could apologize to you. I was selfish. I didn't have an open mind about what you do. You and your team have done amazing things. You have succeeded in helping rid the world of evil. At times it might not feel like good has won. I know you felt that you had failed when Foyet murdered me. I just hope you know that I will never blame you for what happened to me. Foyet is gone now, and that is what really matters. One less murderer in the messed up world that you and our son live in.
It fills me with joy to see you with Beth, even though I wish it could be me. She is a wonderful woman. I love her because she makes you smile. Your smiles are very rare nowadays. When you look at her, your face lights up like the sun. The happiness is apparent in your attitude when you are around her. She is also very gifted with kids. She will prove herself to be a great asset in raising Jack should you two get married.
I miss you. I really wish I could be there to help raise Jack. You will do a marvelous job of raising him though, I'm sure of it.
Just in case you are wondering, I have not forgotten about your promise. The promise that you made to me when you told me that Foyet would be coming after Jack and I. You promised me that you would spend the rest of your life making it up to me. I've seen the way you act. You act like you are indebted to me. I want you to know that you are not. You've already made it up to me. You have provided Jack with the best father he could ever have. You've been fighting evil, trying to prevent other families from suffering the same fate that we have. You now owe me nothing.
