An Afternoon in the Palace
An Afternoon in the Palace
It was afternoon in Nevassa, and in the royal palace's courtyard Macaiah and Sothe were playing chess to "improve" Macaiah's tactical skills. Quickly realizing that she was going to lose, Macaiah decided to resign. "Fine, I give up. You win."
"Ha ha, you-" Sothe laughed, but was cut off by Macaiah, saying, "Oh my Goddess, Sothe! You'd think that you would have gone easy on me! And on my birthday too!" she said, turning away from him in anger. Laughing, Sothe responded, "That's just the thing Macaiah, I did go easy on you. But since it's your birthday, you can make me do something—anything you want, whether I want to do it or not." He smiled.
"Oh really?" asked Micaiah, an evil glint in her eyes.
"Err, I guess..." said Sothe, suddenly nervous. I shouldn't have said that, I should not have said that! She's going to make me do something impossible and I'm going to screw it up. Craaaap... But of all the things Sothe had thought she would do, it wasn't her saying, with a mischievous grin, "Really?! Thanks Sothe! Now close your eyes. I have something to give you!" Sothe's eyes went wide. By Izuka's droopy cheeks, she's going to make me wear something hideous and embarrassing, isn't she?! Why did I think this was a good idea?! Goddess help me! " All of this took place in roughly one second, because the next second, Macaiah was kissing him. Pelleas, of course, chose that second to walk in, the dumb bastard that he is. "Hey Micaiah, can you help me with this magic thing, I just don't get i… goddess high above!!" Macaiah and Sothe broke apart and both started stammering. Pelleas was caught between being hurt and embarrassed, or laughing hysterically. Of course, he chose the latter. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Wait 'till I tell mother about THIS!" he screamed as he ran off, still laughing manically. Macaiah decided that it was kind of funny and ran after him, yelling playfully, "When I catch you Pelleas, you won't have anything to tell your mother with!" Sothe, temporarily stunned, just shook his head at the stupidity of it all and followed them to prevent fighting. Or to get a snack and watch. What do you think?
Author's notes: Yes, it's her birthday. I don't know when that is, so bear with me please!
