Ruins
A beast now lays dormant
Ash settling amidst crumbling structures
Drifting down like black snow
Covering horrors yet undiscovered
Empty shells of what once sheltered life
Barren by a cruel trick
Bereft of those once it protected
A loss felt through sagging walls
Broken trees lie on the ground
Sap still fresh on the broken limbs
They are like the others in this place
Dying
The ground, great rents torn through it
Showing the scars
That will stay with it for many years
Mirroring all around it
