Mikan would never understand the mystery that was Natsume Hyuuga. It was unfathomable to think that he had been running through every corner of Alice Academy, searching for her, all the while aware of the immense measures the Elementary School principle took to hiding her well. Not to mention the strongly built barrio Shiki-san was ordered to project around Mikan's current location, hiding place, home, and most accurately, personal prison: The Labyrinth Mansion.
Even so, there he was, panting from running and the additional climbing he had to endure on his way up the balcony that she now stood on. Those eyes wouldn't leave her face, absorbing every particle of her being as if it was the first and last time he would ever see her. There was also a hint of determination, agony, fear, loyalty, and love. Natsume was driven when it came to those he cared about, and Mikan was under no fault, THE most important person to Natsume Hyuuga. Seeing her. Feeling her in three unbearable months, where he became more detached than usual, even from Ruska, his best friend. All because Sakura Mikan was taken away from him. His partner, his love, and with her, his heart. He thanked the otherworldly force that brought him to this point. To this moment where he could gaze at Mikan, his Mikan, and witness those eyes, sparkling with excitement and endurance, go especially wide, and the corners of her mouth lift up in that enchanting and joyous smile, that instantly made the facial structures of the cold and passive face Natsume twitch with an electric spark of glee. His Mikan. Right here. His Mikan that he swore to protect from the evil ESP's hands. His Mikan….he would never…..ever…stray his glance from.
This was the most precious Christmas…ever.
