"What on earth are you doing, Mr. Reese?"
John Reese looked up from where he was crouching with a look of false innocence on his face.
"Morning, Finch," he greeted. "Something wrong?"
Harold Finch limped toward the corner of the library where his employee was-of all things-decorating a Christmas tree.
"Is this really necessary?" Finch asked, as he surveyed the tree in annoyance. Needles already littered the floor. He could only imagine the mess in the ensuing days and weeks.
"It is Christmas," John remarked, as he hung a nativity ornament on a branch. "I thought it'd be nice to decorate."
Finch made a sound of irritation and walked to his desk. "I hardly think this is the best place, John."
"Sure it is, Harold," John persisted. "And besides, Bear likes it."
Finch's gaze turned to Bear, whose tail wagged enthusiastically as he watched John decorating the tree.
Harold sighed and pointed to the tree, a smile tugging at his lips. "You missed a spot."
John held up an ornament. "Want to help?"
