Chapter 1: Everyday Regular Kids
I was sitting on the sidewalk near my friends house. I was waiting for him to dig his bike out of his garage so we could ride to the beach. Our other friend was waiting with me. His name was Ray. Ray would always do anything if it meant helping a friend. Robert was our friend in the garage, who loved the outdoors. Then there's me. My name is Jacen, or, Sound Storm, as people know me now. I'm the hyperactive, super talkative one of the group.
"Yo, you guys ready?"
"we've been ready for half an hour, Robert!" shouted Ray.
With that, we all took off for the beach.
We rode for an hour on the bike paths, and then decided to challenge each other to a sand race.
"alright. Rules. No crashing into, spraying sand onto, or splashing water onto Sunbathers or beach goers, and the race is to that lifeguard tower and back," I stated.
"Got it" said my friends in unison.
" alright. 3,2,1...GO!"
I was In the lead, but ray soon passed me. All went smoothly until the way back. I saw a jet...no a tendril of sand wrap around Rays leg and pull him down. I stopped and saw Robert have a similar fate. Eventually, no matter how far I ran, I too got pulled under.
As I got pulled, I heard a voice chuckle as he said...
"And so your journey begins..."
