The AVL was going to have its 100th anniversary celebration. Lucy Wilde and her family were helping too. A new member of the AVL was coming to talk to Lucy about how to attract any visitors. Nobody knew it yet but the new member was a teenager called Edith May. So this meant that one of Lucy's daughters had the same name.
Meanwhile Gru and Lucy's Edith who was obsessed with ninjas was practising her skills as usual when she heard a knock at the door. She saw a woman that she had never seen before. ''Edith'' Lucy said ''this is another Edith, she's come to talk to me and your father about the AVL do''.
Edith wasn't sure what to think or say about there being someone else with the same first name as her. ''Hm I'm Edith the ninja fan'' she thought ''and this woman's Edith the new AVL member. This could be interesting''.
Agnes who was quite nearby could hardly believe her ears. ''So there's two Ediths?'' she asked her parents in disbelief. ''Fraid so'' Gru replied ''People do have the same names Agnes. Because there's way more people than names there are''.
''Does that mean there are more people called Agnes in the whole world other than me?'' Agnes asked with amazement. ''Well yes I'm afraid that it does sweetie'' Lucy replied. Unfortunately Margo hadn't heard of the new grown up Edith.
So of course she knew very little indeed. One day however, not long before the AVL celebrations. Margo did see the grown up Edith. She was wearing a striped pink knit cap that looked just like the little girl called Edith [Edith Gru the little girl had lent it to Edith May the teenager].
But Margo didn't know that yet. ''Oh hello'' Edith May [the teenager] said ''I'm Edith the newest member of the AVL and I've been talking to your mum about the party and she's got some great ideas for it''.
Margo was so shocked to hear someone other than her sister say her name was Edith she just opened her mouth to protest, but her speech just didn't come out very well at all. She thought this was her sister Edith under a magic spell. She didn't quite understand about name sakeing yet.
''But but'' Margo stammered ''you... you look different. I mean you've overtaken me in age. How did you do that? And I thought you were a fan of ninjas!''.
''No no'' Edith [teenager] replied ''I was never a fan of ninjas and I can never overtake anyone in age. It's impossible''. But Margo wasn't convinced. The next day was the big AVL party. The inside of the big submarine was decorated with bunting and streamers.
As Margo was listening to Gru talking to Edith [the grown up]. Agnes walked up with her older sister Edith. ''Hi Edith'' Edith [the teenager said. ''Edith? Edith!'' Margo exclaimed staring at Edith her younger sister ''But I thought you gained magic. I thought you overtook me in age''.
Margo stayed very quiet for a moment or so. Then she said ''So now there's two Ediths?!''. Both Ediths looked at her and said at the same time ''Yes there are!''. As The two namesakes laughed at the mix up. Margo did feel very silly indeed.
