The Ballad of Pac-man

Soon as the coin fell through the slot

He came awake, the yellow spot.

And at that very moment it began.

With chomping mouth that hungry guy

Looked kinda' like a pizza pie.

That brave and noble hero called Pac-Man.

Sing Hey-de-hey-de-hey for Pac-Man!

It's quite a maze and he's stuck deep inside.

He's here to save the day, that Pac-Man!

From Inky and Blinky and Pinky and Clyde.

He took off straight and then turned right.

He saw a ghost and so took flight,

Munching tons of pac-dots as he ran.

When you or I would have grown weary

He hung a left and nabbed a cherry.

God bless the pixilated heart of our Pac-Man!

Sing Hey-de-hey-de-hey for Pac-Man!

He likes to snack on ghosts when they turn blue.

Take care though how you play, dear Pac-Man!

Just one wrong step and they'll all snack on you.

The bottom cleared he moved up top.

From side to side he would not stop.

To consume every pellet was his plan.

Three pac-dots left, four at the most,

When he was ambushed by a ghost

And thus we saw the end of poor Pac-Man.

Sing Hey-de-hey-de-hey for Pac-Man!

So quick and agile, fearless and deft.

The seconds tick away for Pac-Man!

I only hope I have some quarters left.
