Author's note: I think I had an epiphany this morning and I haven't seen anyone else throw this on the table.

Danny Didn't Come
He didn't come. Danny didn't come.
The refrain played in Rachel's mind over and over and she and Grace entered the plane.
Danny didn't come.
Numb, she settled her daughter by the window while she took the aisle seat, one conspicuously empty seat between them.
Danny didn't come.
She'd thought she had the perfect lure to take him away from this island with so many bad memories — his daughter, his child-to-be, and her, back in his arms again. She'd thought it would be enough.
Six months ago it would have worked a treat. Two weeks, even. What had happened to prevent him from meeting them at the airport? What Five-0 insanity had stolen him from her?
Rachel should have been enough to take him back home to New Jersey, back to the life he never should have left.
When had he made a new life in Hawaii, despite his continued complaints? When had others become as important as her and Grace?
Rachel's numbness dissolved in a shiver of fear as the plane began to back away from the gate, away from Hawaii, away from Danny.
Danny never came.
What would Wo Fat do to her and her daughter because Danny didn't come?

I thought, is it just a coincidence that Rachel tries to take Danny back to New Jersey at the same time everything else is happening?
