A/N: So, here's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer One-Shot I wrote randomly. I don't even remember why I wrote it. I just... did. Ah well. It's short and nothing special, however, I hope you guys like it :)
'…Don't be mad, my darling, for this is for the best. I'm sorry it has to be like this; but I don't want to hurt you, nor do I want to endanger you anymore than I already have. I'm not good enough to be with you. I'm sorry.
I will always love you; but this isn't right. We're not right. I shouldn't have let this get out of hand, but I slipped and brought you closer when I should have been pushing you away. I'm sorry.
Words can't describe these feelings that I feel; you've made me feel more like a man than I ever have, and it's why I've left. I can't be doing this anymore, hurting you, loving you…I can't do it, and I'm so sorry about this.
Not that I haven't enjoyed my time with you, because I did; I've loved every minute of it. Buffy please, don't be mad; don't hate me, hate this curse of mine. I don't want you to be the subject of Angelus' wrath.

I didn't want to believe the words encrypted onto the simple piece of paper, but what choice did I have? He was gone, and as far as I could tell, he was never coming back. I couldn't hold back the tears that threatened to fall as I re-read the elegant script I recognised as Angel's handwriting.
He left me, left Sunnydale; and didn't bother saying any final good-byes.
