A/N: This is just a random one-shot/drabble/thingy. Don't expect to see much Snape/Lily out of me. Just look at my name. I'm really not sure how much I like this... and I don't think the tenses agree very well... Anyway, it's set in their fifth year at Hogwarts, a while before he calls Lily a Mudblood.
Snape's PoV
Lily was talking to Potter again. She said she hated him, then she would go over to talk to him. She's just so confusing sometimes. I suppose Potter is in Gryffindor with her, but still, to me it feels like she's betraying me when she talks to him. But Lily doesn't think of it that way.
During Potions, Lily and I were partners, as always when we have any class together. As we were finishing our potion, I felt like I had to confront her about Potter.
"Lily, you know I don't like it when you talk to Potter so much-"
"I wish you'd just shut up about Potter! It's like you're stalking me or something!"
She had no idea how right she was. I, of course, backtracked into even deeper water. "It's just, I really like you, Lily, and-"
She cut me off by pecking me on the cheek. "I know, Sev, you're a great friend too." The bell rang for the end of class, and she gathered up her things and left.
I stayed, dumbstruck, thoughts running through my head. She kissed me on the cheek. Friend. She had said friend. Is she really this oblivious? Or is she scared? Scared of ruining the friendship? Why friend?
A/N: Well, now that you're done reading that horribly butchered attempt at Snape/Lily... The good news! I'm alive! I managed to survive writing this! I just realized how much I dislike Snape/Lily... Review?
